Bagasse Meal Tray
Bagasse Food Trays
Bagasse is a by-product of sugar production. Bagasse is the fiber that remains after the juice is extracted from sugar cane. The remaining fibers are pressed into shape in a high-temperature, high-pressure process that uses far less energy than wood pulp for paper products.
Since it is a waste by-product, it does not require additional arable land and has no impact on the forest area. Bagasse products are biodegradable for up to 90 days in commercial composting facilities. These 100% compostable bowls will degrade back into organic compost material, which can then be used for fertilizer.
Food trays made from bagasse are thicker and stiffer than traditional paper or plastic trays. They have ideal thermal properties for hot, moist or oily foods. You can even microwave it for 2-3 minutes. Bagasse Food Trays are functional and dynamic in shape, size and compartments to help you make more customizable choices for yourself. Our oil repellent flashing boards are made from 100% bagasse without any plastic or wax coating. They are certified biodegradable and compostable, and have strong structural integrity to hold their shape when used with solid and liquid foods.
